Vivienne Westwood
Neil Mason photographs Vivienne Westwood
Neil has photographed Vivienne Westwood’s work for many years. Documenting her unique approach to fashion. Telling stories in a personal and engaging way. Always capturing the electric atmosphere of Westwood’s shows in a minimal, clean, premium way that truly reflects her brand.
Mason has a clean (and a keen) eye for slick composition and detail. It’s an enigmatic and poetic approach that connects with client’s, models and designers alike. His experience enables him to quickly and easily adapt to his surroundings. Unobtrusively operating in small spaces Mason magically captures the best of every show he attends – both on the runway and behind the scenes. For Vivienne Westwood’s show at London Fashion Week he was praised for his ability to reflect the mood of the occasion. Key models, the press and the familiar faces in the audience which at this particular show included the likes of Lily Allen and Kate Moss.
As always, Neil’s brief was to capture the show in every detail. But he (as always) delivered so much more. Masons obsessive architectural eye always draws his attention to set builds, lighting and the design features that surround the events. In his mind, they are a vital part of the show. A crucial back-drop not to be ignored.
As a result, his images encapsulate the power as well as the performance. And this attention to detail ensures that each individual London fashion show remains exactly that – individual. Distinctive and unique. Just like the designers and their designs.
Neil’s work for London Fashion Week, Vivienne Westwood and the British Fashion Council have been published editorially and digitally for the likes of BOF, W Magazine, Dazed Digital and Vogue.
